In Episode 1 of Return to Presence with Dr. Shawna, we explored the lives of Dr. Anna Arnold Hedgeman and Ms. Bertha Cooley—two Black women whose stories reveal what happens when we perform resilience at the cost of our own lives.

I introduced the weathering hypothesis: the scientific reality that chronic stress and racism literally age Black women's bodies from the inside out.

Well... Part of honoring our ancestors is putting their wisdom into practice.

In Episode 1, I gave you a brief presence practice.
Here, we're going deeper. Together.

This Workshop is...

90 minutes to stop performing and start feeling.

We'll explore the weathering hypothesis—not just intellectually, but somatically. You'll learn to recognize where stress, untold stories, and weight get stuck in your body. Then, through guided embodiment meditation and body scan practice, we'll begin the sacred work of release.

This space centers Black women and is open to all.
